Rental days are always counted in 24-hour blocks from the actual pick-up time.

🕐 Example:

Pick-up Monday at 10:00 and drop-off Tuesday at 10:00 → 1 rental day
Pick-up Monday at 10:00 and drop-off Tuesday at 11:00 → 2 rental days

Because even an extra hour can trigger an additional rental day, we recommend selecting your pick-up and drop-off times carefully when searching on VerusCars.

On VerusCars you’ll see both “instant confirmation” offers and offers that need to be confirmed by the local rental supplier.

If supplier confirmation is required, we first check car availability with the partner.
This can take around 24–48 hours, depending on how close your pick-up date is.

🧑‍💻 As soon as the supplier confirms your car, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your voucher.

🔎 You can also follow the status at any time in the My Booking section of VerusCars.

If you don’t see the email, please check your spam/junk folder. When searching on the site, you can use the “Instant confirmation” filter to show only offers that are confirmed right away.

Through VerusCars you can usually choose between these options (depending on the specific offer):

💵 Full prepayment – you pay the full rental cost online. Extras and the security deposit are paid at pick-up to the rental supplier.

💳 Partial prepayment – you pay VerusCars’ service/commission and any extra protection online; the remaining rental balance is paid at pick-up.

🕒 Pay later (at pick-up) – you pay the rental price directly at the counter; online payment is only needed if you add protection from VerusCars.

Your voucher always shows a clear price breakdown, including how much is still due at the counter.

ℹ️ Always review the Rental Conditions for the specific offer so you know exactly what’s included and whether your own insurance is required or sufficient.

VerusCars is a booking platform (intermediary), so some payments go to us and some to the local supplier:

  • For partially prepaid offers, the amount you pay online (plus any VerusCars protection) is paid to VerusCars, not to the supplier.
  • The remaining balance is paid directly to the rental company at pick-up, so their system only shows what you still owe them.

🔎 If the supplier charges more than expected, double-check for:

  • extras added at the counter (additional driver, child seat, cross-border fee, etc.);
  • mandatory local protection if you’re paying with a debit card or don’t meet their deposit rules.

If you’ve booked a fully prepaid offer, you only pay for extras locally. If the supplier says the rental hasn’t been paid, contact VerusCars support immediately – we’ll verify the payment and help resolve it with the supplier.

To collect a car booked via VerusCars you’ll normally need:

🪪 Valid physical driver’s licence of the main driver (and sometimes an International Driving Permit, depending on the country and licence language).

💳 Credit card in the main driver’s name for the security deposit and any local charges. Some suppliers accept debit cards under specific conditions – always check the Rental Conditions.

🛂 Passport or national ID (depending on destination).

📃 VerusCars voucher – printed or on your phone – showing your booking details and supplier information.

Some suppliers may also ask for extra documents (e.g. proof of address, return flight ticket, or insurance documents).

ℹ️ Exact requirements are listed in the Driver Requirements and Payment sections of the Rental Conditions for each offer.

Whether you need an IDP depends on where you’re renting and which licence you hold:

  • If your licence is issued in the EU/EEA and you’re renting in another EU/EEA country, an IDP is usually notrequired (as long as the licence is in Latin alphabet and valid).
  • If your licence is in a non-Latin alphabet (e.g. Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese) or local law requires it, suppliers typically do require an IDP in addition to your original licence.
  • Some countries have their own specific rules (e.g. Japan, some US states, certain non-EU destinations), so it’s important to check in advance.

You can usually obtain an IDP from the authority that issues driving licences in your country.

ℹ️ The exact rule for each offer is shown in the Driver Requirements section of the Rental Conditions. The same requirements apply to all additional drivers.

You can access the Rental Conditions for any offer booked via VerusCars in several ways:

🔍 Before booking: click the “Rental Conditions” link next to the car image/price on the search results or car details page.

📄 After booking: the Rental Conditions are attached to your VerusCars voucher and always available in the My Booking section, where you can also download the voucher.

These conditions come directly from the rental supplier and include driver age rules, deposit amounts, card requirements, fuel and mileage policy, cross-border rules, fees, and what’s included/excluded.

Because they can differ between suppliers – and even between cars of the same supplier – we strongly recommend reading them carefully before confirming your booking.
